when i speak a different language, it makes my peers contend with the fact that i'm not just some dumb blonde. It's stupid and selfish, i know. but after being viewed as the happy-go-lucky, naive and ignorant chick for so long, you just want people to think that there's more to you than giggles and friendliness. i'm no child, and Spanish is one way to remind them...
