The comments that appeared with this when I first posted it don't reflect the inspiration behind this six. I was not prepared to tell the story then, so I let it go. I played on the thought that was planted by a commentor, and went for the giggle.
Now, I am reposting and adding the backstory, for anyone who may see it and remember it from before.
So many of us share the same history...the murky figures in our younger lives, who took liberties they should not take with children. As adults, we believe we have buried those demons long away, have moved on, healed, overcome.
But we still wear that skin. And it is forever scarred.
