Since when are cancer jokes funny?

I don't know where it started, but I remember hearing it. Something about adults who see every random illness as cancer...and then everyone laughs, because it's a joke, you see. A cold is not cancer, an allergic reaction to soap or perfume is not cancer....we're all just being silly.

Except...cancer is not funny. Not ever.
