Half-assed remarks deserve my half-assed attention

The goal for today as well as all days I intend to feel well is to put words in perspective. I teach kids to \"know their audience\". I need to flip that around. I NEED to know the speaker. Who is talking to me? Does what they say matter? Is it reliable? What should I do about said situation that is the basis of pontification? My problem perhaps is I have an unrealistic bar of expectation. I want people to mean what they say and say what they mean. I want what you say today to be true tommorrow. I want words to be like rocks. I want words to be left unspoken until their eternal truth is unearthed.
I prefer silence to chatter if the chatter is idle and if the chatter is filling my mind and heart and soul with ideas that become the foundation of my action. Do I want too much?
