People on machines watched him speak.

I was at the gym when I learned about the tragic events at the Boston marathon. I looked around at the other people on their machines who were watching the coverage. When President Obama spoke, almost every screen in the gym was watching him. Some people slowed down, some people stopped, some people hung their heads, some people cried silently to themselves. It felt selfish to be doing my workout, it felt wrong to turn the coverage off when I couldn't take it anymore, it felt helpless that all I could do was say a prayer and cry. My thoughts go out to those in Boston.
