My dear friend is suffering from debilitating pain of undetermined origin. She has undergone a battery of tests and procedures, everything from CT scans to chiropractic manipulations. Nothing seems to help. It is crippling her mentally as well as physically, and putting a huge strain on her family, who depend on her, not to mention love her dearly.

Last night, she was in despair. She was curled in her bed with a bottle of rum, hopelessly trying to get numb enough to sleep.

My heart breaks for her. And I know that I cannot...can NOT...abandon her to Captain Morgan. There has to be a solution that doesn't involve numbing herself into unconsciousness.
