My advice? Don't knock baby steps.

Today, I watched my 18-month-old son walk across a football field by himself. He fell. Over and over. He tripped and fell on his face (thank God for soft, squishy grass). I stood next to him the whole time and watched to see if he needed me to swoop in and rescue him, but he just kept getting up.

Today I learned that baby steps are huge. They are brave, they are new, they are determined. They are wobbly and unsure, but they are courageous and they get stronger with practice and with a little bit of encouragement and love.
