Instead, they come in bodies. Best friends of fourteen years. Seven and eight-year-olds. Role models. Chemistry teachers. Classmate camaraderies. Soon-to-be-roommates. Moms and Dads and freshmen brothers who get under your skin and peculiar neighbors and maybe-boyfriends and people who might only like you for your baked goods. These are the ones worth the most, and come but once in a lifetime. These are the ones to save and invest in, for their value transcends materialism. These are the ones for whom I am endlessly grateful and for whom I love tirelessly.
