Hoping her own drum isn't snare.

My daughter has always high stepped to her own drum, regardless of popular opinion. She truly does not give a damn what people think. I find this rash, intemperate trait so incredibly admirable. Which of us is brave enough, truly brave enough to be ourselves all of the time? Tonight she heads to a dance in a dress that is so completely over the top, a fact she is fully aware of. Frankly, it could pass for a wedding gown. I have furtively asked her, \"Thea, are you sure about this?\" Like an imp in a tulle nightmare, she grins at me above all the jewels on the bodice, and the flecks in her blue-green eyes hint at golden mischief, and she defiantly nods her head so hard her silken red waves are once again flying around like flames. I can hear the drum line kicking back up, and I just hope the snares stay behind her as she marches in, and don't get caught up underfoot.
