Last weekend, my theater company hosted a karaoke contest as part of a community fun day. The entire event was a fundraiser for Make A Wish, and meant to give the community something to do to kick of summer as well as raise money for the kiddos in our area. The karaoke contest was structured in true keeping with the concept of \"fun\" was not meant to carry any of the entrants to further success in the industry. Really, guys...there were no talent scouts hiding among the moms and dads with their cotton candy-covered kids, and the judge you didn't recognize? He was the other judge's boyfriend, not some mysterious agent seeking the NEXT BIG THING. But thanks for playing....we did good for Make A Wish, and that was the point, yes? :)
