Small huge mistake, anyone could make.

There've been two similar stories this week locally about parents who've inadvertently left their babies in their boiling hot cars and the babies essentially sweltered to death. Easy to judge what kind of moron forgets their own child? Well, it seems to be a mistake that anybody could make, anyone out of their regular routine, anyone shattered with the exhaustion that a new baby brings, anyone with a human heart. For the parent who unintentionally brings about the demise of their own newborn, the guilt itself is punishment enough and rarely do these people receive criminal charges. Almost always, they are good, kind and loving parents who just made a horrifying mistake that will haunt their every waking moment for the rest of their lives. Doesn't it make you just squeeze your own children extra tight and say, there but for the grace of G-d go I?
