A midnight poem for (moon) lovers.

Title in six: \"Just before the church bells kissed\".

Tonight we watched the clouds parade
in front of a fiercely bright moon.
In a slow dance of smoky spark
and random shadows,
they flirted and teased each other.
And when the heavier midnight clouds
slowly approached,
until all what was left
was a frail silver lining,
no matter how brief it was,
it was exquisite to witness.
It *felt* fragile, yet so perfect,
that narrow rim of splendid ancient light
smiling at us,
just before the church bells kissed,
and welcomed the twilight hour.

(For Xander, my accomplice, my lover).
