Do you get a certain number of 'listens' or 'cares' from one person before they run out and stop knowing the words to say, or knowing how to show that they care?

I think I exhausted them all eighteen months ago. Now I'm stuck with just me. Though sometimes I wish I had the luxury of turning off the sound of my own thoughts whirring and stay quiet for a while.
