finally found fulfillment in the unfulfilled.

Nearly a decade ago, I graduated college with a general music degree, fully expecting never to use it in the "real world." Originally with dreams of attending law school, after working for the government as a field supervisor, then a contract specialist, and eventually as a driver's license examiner, I could find no job to cure a growing void within my soul. Was this life? This endless torment of manuals and cubicles and people who care nothing for me except the product I create within their corporate-defined mold? Then, last summer, in the community newspaper was an ad - to which I responded tentatively, because the position was not one I'd ever seen myself accepting. After interviewing and being hired on the spot, and after accepting the job with reservations: six months later, I have never been prouder and more excited to tell you I am the K-12 General Music and Choir Teacher at Birchwood Schools. Finally, after all my searching, life brought me back to where I was supposed to be all along - showing others that there is such a thing as fulfillment, and we each take our own, sometimes extremely diverted path to get there.
