You might have heard a version of this story already.

It's one of my childhood memories. Mom baked a magnificent traditional Polish cheesecake, Sernik. She let it cool on the counter. The phone rang. Meanwhile, our cat caught the delicious scent. When Mom finished her conversation, she found the cat on the counter, at the cake. Most of the top was nibbled.

Lucky cat ended up having crumbled cheesecake rest of the week. (Can't recall if he also got his own cat food) The family was lucky too. Mom was able to save us the bottom half.
