Robin Williams was my Princess Di.

I was a 25-year old know-nothing when Princess Di passed away. I remember being so callous to wonder why so many people were devestated when she died. They didn't even know her, how could they be so upset?

How could a person weep over the death of somebody who never even knew that they existed?

17 years later I know the answer to that question. For me, Robin Williams has always been my hero. His joy was infectious and his ability to tell a story are unmatched. Robin was the master and the north star to which I guided my love of laughter.

He gave us too much of his heart.

Tonight as my star has fallen from the sky I'm hurting and weeping over a man whom I have never met. To him, I would be a stranger - but to me he was my muse. I live in a world without Robin Williams. It is strange to think to think that I live in a world that is far less funny today than it was yesterday.

Depression is the epidemic that we are afraid to talk about. It is real. It is a killer. It took one of the greats. Depression swallowed one of our brightest lights.

I'm heartbroken.
