Mom, at 81 in terrible two's

My folks both have dementia. My Dad started in his early 70's gradually. Now at 81 he is confused but always happy and easy to care for. No problems giving him his medications, bathing him, getting him dressed ,eats what ever you make for him . Dad has and iiliostomy, he calls emptying it \"Getting his oil changed \". He always try's to be helpful. Like's to laugh , and is always thanking us for the littlest thing. Mom started at about age 79 and is now 81.She went downhill mentally rather quickly. She is very hard to care for. Doesn't want to bathe or put on clean clothes. If left alone she would look and smell like a homeless person in a week. Getting her to eat is a daily battle .What ever we cook isn't the right thing even when we make what she asks for. She thinks her medication should be taken only when and if she wants to, a daily battle. Cries and moans rocking back and forth at other times seems totally fine. This all in a day. I have told my own children when and if I get like this DRUG ME and stick my ass in a nursing home. Thank God my son said you are like Grandpa in personality. I don't hate my Mom , I do hate what has happened to her. I used to be able to talk to her about anything . Now when I need her advise the most, I can't talk to her. Sad
