A Six-Word Memoir® is the story of your life—some part of it or all of it—told in exactly six words.

In classrooms and boardrooms, churches and synagogues, veteran's groups and across the dinner table, Six-Word Memoirs have become a powerful tool to catalyze conversation, spark imagination or simply break the ice.

Here on Six Words, we offer a simple platform to share the short, sharp story of your life, as well as provide daily prompts to share your six-word takes on the topics of our times.

More than half a million short stories have been shared here. Read more about six.

So give six a try—and make your words count.

Wicked eyes, wicked ways, wicked wants

by EnMasse on April 30, 2013   |  FacebooktwitterTumblr

what wicked sees in me
cagey leopard without spots, a beast with
innate need still breathes
he talks of game, thrills with sparks and flames
no one immune from the burning man living in his cluttered room
what news, what stirs you to cook, pot luck?
say he will amuse you
then look into you
chew right through you, before you blink
he comes like sifted sand blown by desert winds from where no deserts lie
you will be mystified by his silver blue eyes
he has lived in dark spaces you will never see
too many lives lived in only one
he lost the sun before you learned to run
somehow he knows about the diamonds hidden in your soul
this is what he covets most, he told you so

4/30/13, Hark
