Right now, I'm reading: My book club's monthly selection and whatever John Green novel my 14 year old son says I MUST; overdue e-mails; and Six Memoirs, of course (a little obsessively, truth be told).
In bed I like to read: Things I am too embarrassed to be caught reading during the day (without outing any guilty pleasures, these might include but are not limited to: realtor.com, 'People' magazine, Daily Mail/Huffington Post headlines)
My favorite story of all time is: I have three: my childrens' adoption stories.
My favorite books are probably "A Prayer for Owen Meany" by John Irving (so good it gives me SHIVERS); "Crossing to Safety" by Wallace Stegner (a simple story so beautifully told; his use of language is just gorgeous); and "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein. Gets me every time.
Besides SMITH, I read stories at: Huffington Post; NYT; USA today; Good Reads, NASW.
If you were to throw up your hands in exasperation and yell \"it's the story of my life,\" what would you be talking about? "Can't have nothing nice." Caring too much about STUFF or trying to make a situation perfect isn't going to end well, so enjoy things as they are.
What six words would I tell my teen self if I could go back in time? Please: it's not all about you.
The song that encapsulates the soundtrack of my life is? Hmmm. Currently, probably "The Story" by Brandi Carlile. The soundtrack evolves over time.
If I could have one person read my writing on SMITH it would be? I'm still a little too self-conscious to really imagine anyone I know reading it but having said that, in theory I would like the WHOLE WORLD to read my writing. I would also like my dads to read it, so the WHOLE WORLD...and Heaven. ;)
