If we ever went to a sunny place for vacation, I always jumped into a pool first thing. I was never a sun-bather because I always burned terribly--in those days there was no such thing as "sun block." It was always "Coppertone for that fantastic tan!" So stupid. Whatever "tan" was, I never got it. I just burned in the sun. So I learned how to swim really well and was always in the water for hours in Summertime. Pruned skin was my suntan.
