As the sun’s blistering heat finally gives way to cooler temperatures and changing leaf colors, we say goodbye to the dog days of summer and enter autumn. Autumn is considered to have a double meaning – at once a season of abundance as crops are harvested and a season of decay as nature prepares for winter. For SixContest #153, we want to know what fall means to you.

Consider the emotions and sensations that you associate with the season. Do you welcome the arrival of autumn or do you cling to the last remnants of summer? Do the colorful leaves amassing on the ground remind you of childhood memories? Does fall serve as some sort of personal metaphor for your life? Maybe you’re just a fan of pumpkin spice and the imminent holidays!

If you'd like to share a backstory (we love reading them!), be sure to submit your entry as a Six and include the link to the Backstory in the comments below. Share as many stories as you like, but do post only one entry per comment.
