I'm 5'4\" and in my family that's really short (average is 5'10\" and up), so the joke in my family has always been that I'm short because if I was any taller I'd be too afraid to stand up (yes I'm terrified of heights... and by heights I mean anything more than 5ft off the ground).
My theater teacher told me to got up on the catwalk to make sure nothing was left up there from the play last weekend, my only response to that was to (well first almost die and shortly after) say \"I'm short for a reason, I'm too terrified of heights to be any taller, let alone be 100 feet off the ground.\"

He laughed and made me do it anyways (and I conned one of the freshmen into doing it for me to avoid the anxiety attack)
