They say, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never harm me.” But as Sixers, we understand the power of words. They can cause tears of joy or make people cower and fall to their knees.

In this week’s memoirs, some explored wordiness (“Six words can say too much.”), while others experimented with lively wordplays (“See your lumps, raise you scars.”). So it seems we need a new verse: “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can touch the soul,” sounds much more accurate.
