Six-Word Caption Contest #12: Sochi Olympics—Let the Games Begin!

There’s nothing like an arctic chill to get you in a Winter Olympics state of mind! Clear your social calendars, set your DVRs, and prepare to be riveted as the world’s finest athletes compete for winter gold.

The 2014 Sochi Winter Games coverage begins with preliminary rounds on Thursday, February 6th. Events commence on February 8th and the closing ceremonies are Sunday, February 23rd. You’ll have 18 days to get your fill of high-intensity events in skiing, snowboarding, speed skating, ice hockey, and bobsleighing. Pace yourself as you follow endurance events like cross-country skiing or the biathlon. And if you really need to take it down a notch, there’s always figure skating and the ever-popular curling.

We want your Six Words on the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics. We’ve given you a ski jumping photo to jump-start your Sixes for this week’s Caption Contest. Tell us about your favorite athletes and events, your pride and patriotism, or the emotional roller coaster as olympic dreams materialize or vanish before your eyes. Whatever you choose, share your gold medal memoirs in just six words.

We’ll post our Top Six favorites here on the Six-Word Contest blog and via social media. A personalized key tag (pictured, below) with the six words of his or her choice will go to our first place winner, thanks to our friends at the hip design company, Various Projects.
