This week, Sixers shared moments of lessons learned, guidance gained, and lives changed. These were just a few of the many thoughts discussed for SixContest #24 in celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week! We teamed up with Center for Teaching Quality (CTQ) and asked for your six words on what teaching means to you. Nearly 200 odes about pedagogues poured in, but only one memoir can win. Here are the Top Six entries:

6. “Was so messed up. She cared.” Kharis

5. “Teaching expands my heart and head.” @stevenberkowitz (via Twitter)

4. “Teacher 24-7-365. I dream lesson plans.” –lillybrook

3. “Believing in a student’s infinite potential.” –@TchrAnnie (via Twitter)

2. “Still writing because of Professor Friedman.” –HeWhat

And teacher’s choice for our top-rated #TeachingIs memoir goes to…

1. “They see. What you. Could be.” –thesheikh
