A.J. Jacobs and David Plotz to Get Biblical with Six-Words

Everyone knows the Ten Commandments, right?

AJ Jacobs.

A.J. Jacobs

You know, those Biblical tablets that guide behavior and beliefs for so many—principles like Thou Shalt Not Kill, Commit Adultery, Covet or Steal. What if you could write one? You can, in just Six Words™. And instead of telling it on the mountain, you can share it with the masses on Twitter!

On September 24 at 2:30pm EST, bestselling authors A.J. Jacobs (The Year of Living Biblically and Editor-at-Large, Esquire magazine) and David Plotz (Good Book and Editor, Slate Magazine), along with the team at Unscrolled (54 Writers and Artists Wrestle with the Torah) will tweet “Thou Shalt Write a New Commandment.” Then, they’ll choose some of their favorite responses.

It’s simple: We ask, You answer, in Six. Tweet your commandments during the event to @sixwords with the tag #NewCommandment and you’re in!

The Six-Word Festival on Twitter (presented by sixwordmemoirs.com) runs from September 24-26. Check out the full schedule to see what other events are coming up and for more about the celebrity guest judges.
