"Life is one big blog post": The Best Six-Word Memoirs of the Week

This week, celebrities and everyday people mobilized to encourage gay youth to know “it gets better,” while anti-gay protestors took their fight to the Supreme Court. In spite of these contradictions, your Six-Word Memoirs reminded us of the supreme power of words. Here are six six-worders we love from the week ending October 8. Click on each author’s name to check out more memoirs.

Most Meta: “Life is one big blog post.’”—Debbie Stier
Best Imagery: “Killed two rumors with one smile.” —Kadie-Wa, from SMITHTeens
Most Heartbreakingly Poetic: “The eccentricity is genetic; loneliness environmental.”—Austin Duggan (profile pic, above).
Most In Need of a Backstory: “I really need some big bandaids.” —Three Loves
Funniest: “Rich, single, 60: call me collect.” Heard at a Six-Word Slam at the AARP Convention in Orlando.
Most Inspirational: “Life doesn’t have a reset button.” —SomeA123, from our new six-word project, Six Words on Pain & Hope, with the nonprofit, To Write Love on Her Arms.
