Six Words on the Jewish Life

“Found Jewish princess. Good-bye succulent pork.”
“Didn’t get Seinfeld ’til met in-laws.”
“I kvetch. And therefore, I am.”
“Catholic in Jewish neighborhood: double guilt.”
“Moved to Israel. Rest is history.”

From identity and mother issues to unfettered love of carbs and inner conflict over Israel—and the sheer joy of discussing and debating… everything—the Jewish life is a rich and storied one for Jews and non-Jews alike. During this season of Jewish reflection and celebration, we’ve launched our newest Six-Word Memoir project, “Six Words on the Jewish Life,” in partnership with the Jewish cultural mavens at Reboot. The best of the Jewish sixes will be published in a new book in February 2012. Deadline for submissions for this book: December 25, 2011.

More faith-based projects are coming to SMITH soon; and have faith Atheists and Agnostics, we’ve got your back, too.

Plus: Watch videos of Walter Mosley, Deborah Kopagen Cohen, Anthony Giglio, and more from our Six Words on the Jewish Life Show at 92YTribeca in NYC.
