"Can't log in, sit here sad"

Occasionally, we here at SMITH have a technical difficulty or six. After the six-word memoir book came out about a month ago, our surge in traffic was such that we had to buy more bandwidth, and were thus shut down for an hour or so. Among the first six-word memoirs I saw when the site was back up? “Down for maintenance, be back soon.” It’s in that spirit that I have to share this note from Elizabeth Granby, whose subject line, “Can’t log in, sit here sad,” caught my eye among a backlog of email. She then went on to explain her plight:

Just signed up, excited new member.
Accessing my account, problems do persist,
Received email of the verification kind.
Clicked on link that was provided.
Went to page for logging in.
Typed in email, but password failed.
Clicked “forgot my password”, no avail.
Told me, “no such member exists”

Fearing the worst, story never told.
Please, please, what will i do?

To Elizabeth and others having login troubles, I offer:

Working on it feverishly; so sorry.
Tech guru says Monday: all better.
Thanks for your patience—don’t leave.
Dear SMITH community: you are brilliant.

Wonderful site you have here but I was curious if you knew of any message boards that cover the same topics talked about in this article? I’d really love to be a part of community where I can get feed-back from other experienced people that share the same interest. If you have any recommendations, please let me know. Thanks a lot!
