Happy Birthday, Stan Lee! Caption Contest Week Seven, Plus Our Week Six Favorites!

With 2014 fast approaching, week six of the Caption Contest gave us the perfect opportunity to think about what we’d like to accomplish in the new year. You gave us your resolutions in Six Words. Here is our Top Six list:

1. “Find last year’s list. Try again.” —RuthL
2. “Stare fears down until they blink.” —favepeep
3. “More kindness to everyone, including myself.” —Laura Alonso
4. “Mend some fences. Tear some down.” —oopsalittle
5. “Laugh with reckless abandon at myself.” —Trix95
6. “Stop renting life, start owning it.” —Judah

Congrats to oopsalittle, who kicks off 2014 with a signed copy of the book of her choice from our Six Shop!

At SMITH Mag, we love all forms of storytelling and comics are no exception. This week’s Six-Word Caption Contest features comic book legend and Spider-Man co-creator Stan Lee.

We say happy birthday to the iconic Mr. Lee, Chairman Emeritus of Marvel Comics who turned 91 on December 28th—the same day he reached his goal of one million followers on Twitter (TheRealStanLee). One more achievement to add to a very accomplished résumé. Not only did he co-create favorites including Spider-Man, the Hulk, Iron Man, X-Men and the Fantastic Four, he’s collaborated with several artists to make all our nerdy comic book dreams come true. Without him, who would there be to save the world time and again?

Share your Six-Word caption in honor of Stan Lee’s birthday or any of his amazing characters, including Spider-Man…whatever you pick, Say It In Six!

Submissions accepted through Friday, January 3, 5pm EST.
