Six-Word Memoir Story Slam on Mothers & Daughters, Fathers & Sons—May 18

Whether you’re a mother or father, daughter or son, everyone has a parent story to tell. On May 18 at NYC’s amazing 92YTribeca, we hope you’ll join us for a night of six-word sagas about parenting, your relationship with a parent or that miraculous, messy thing we all go through called growing up. At the end of the night, we invite you to share your own six words on mothers and fathers in an audience participation Six-World Slam.

The lineup includes:
Susan Orlean, staff writer, The New Yorker, and author of The Orchid Thief, The Bullfighter Checks Her Makeup and the forthcoming biography of Rin Tin Tin

Joe Lockhart, former press secretary for President Clinton; managing director of the Glover Park Group

Deborah Copaken Kogan, author of Shutterbabe, Between Here and April and Hell Is Other Parents

Laura Zigman, author of Animal Husbandry and Dating Big Bird, and co-host of the new NPR show, “Hash Hags”

Gesine Bullock-Prado, author of Confections of a Closet Master Baker and Sugar Baby

Plus: Enter our contest on the Six-Word Memoir Facebook page for a chance to perform your story at the show.
